DC Power Supply
The PAK series was designed by Kikusui specifically to emphasize compact size, lightweight, high reliability, and portability. This series is 1/2 to 1/3 smaller, and lighter than their predecessors. This supply also has a temperature-sensing fan that runs at lower speeds during light load and low ambient temperature operations. This is one supply that does not sound like a jet is parked under your bench. There is also a front mounted air intake that eliminates the need for cooling space above and below the unit saving even more space. There is also a high-visibility green LED readout with 3Ĺ digit resolution. The voltmeterís accuracy is 0.1% +/- 2 digits, and the ammeter accuracy is 0.5% +/- 3 digits. The over voltage trip value is displayed on the voltmeter when the button is pushed on the front panel. The set values can be checked during operation without disturbing the protector.
Specifications are as follows: Zero to six volts DC up to 160 amps. Ripple is 15 mV RMS. Transient response is 2 ms, with a rise and fall time of 150 ms at full load. Weight is 18.7 pounds.
This Kikusui Supply allows a wide range of configurations such as slaving of multiple units. These adjustments are made through a set of switches accessible through the top of the unit and a dip switch, located on the rear panel, which can be seen in one of the pictures below. If you are interested in using all these features, we will be glad to list additional units. This unit also has the IEEE-488 Interface.
